The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress (TPYC) has urged upon the chief administrator of Tripura State Co-operative Bank (TSCB) to set up an examination centre at Agartala for recruitment of staff for the bank . The TSCB is holding an exam for recruitment of 156 ministerial staff members for the bank but the examination centre has been set up in Silchar in Cachar district of Assam as the agency entrusted to take the exam has decided upon Silchar as the place for the recruitment examination .

The president of TPYC Neelkamal Saha has informed the chief administrator of the TSCB that holding the exam in Silchar will create lot of difficulties for the candidates of Tripura who will have to incur additional expenses on fair and food and lodging cost . There is lot of scope for setting up examination centre within the state but still it has been shifted to Silchar which is at a considerable distance from Tripura.

Apart from this, Neel Kamal Saha has also demanded that possession of PRTC by candidates appearing for the recruitment exam must be mandatory as otherwise the jobs meant for Tripura youths may be grabbed by people from outside . This issue created lot of problems during the JRBT exam earlier and in TPSC exam also and the TPYC president has demanded issuance of open notification in this regard that ten years PRTC must be a must for those who will appear for the examination. He has expressed the hope that the TSCB authority will seriously consider his demand and take appropriate action , otherwise the TPYC will be forced to launch an agitation on the issue.
