Sixty five yearold man murdered early today by nephew in law following nocturnal dispute on Wednesday

In a bizarre incident, possibly symptomatic of the crisis-ridden time, a sixty five yearold man was hacked to death by his nephew in law in Tapania Pal Para area in the early hours of today. The man was seized by neighbours and kept bound by ropes till police came from Radha Kishorepur police station and arrested him . Giving details police sources said that the slain man Narayan Das (65) had enjoyed a drinking session with his younger brother Haradhan Das (62) and the latter’s son in law Judhisthir Sarkar (38) in the house and had a heated exchange of words. But in the early hours of today Jidhisthir Sarkar hacked to death Narayan Das after he had come out of his room for morning walk and started shouting .

Responding to the commotion made over the issue by slain Narayan Das’s other younger brother Jawharlal Das, the local people rushed to the spot and bound murderer Judhisthir Das with ropes and informed police. After receiving information the officer in charge of Radha Kishorepur police station Babul Das and SDPO (Udaipur) Ajay Debbarma rushed to the Tepania Palpara area and arrested the killer Judhisthir Sarkar and brought him to police station . Sources said that after being produced in court police have got custody of Judhisthir Sarkar in police remand.
