Major success of East Agartala Police, stolen money recovered within 24 hours

In a major success, the East Agartala Police arrested three thieves of a gang and recovered cash Rs 1,36,735 stolen from the house of an advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee in Math Chowmuhani area in the city. Recovery of the stolen cash within 24 hours has been praised by many.

Sanjit Sen, Officer-in-Charge of the East Agartala Police station said as soon as the theft case was reported on Tuesday noon police launched an investigation based on CCTV footage from a nearby house.

Police detected the movement of an identified thief Rahul Das on the lane and in front of the house of Advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee. Based on it police raided the house of Rahul Das in the Indranagar area on the same night. Police arrested him and recovered some of the stolen money from him. Based on his interrogation police arrested two others Binoy Saha of Karbook and Amit Roy of Srinagar. All of them used to stay in rented houses in the same locality. All of them have many previous records o theft and snatch incidents.
