Pradyot Kisore issues clarion call to voters to ensure win for elder sister and BJP candidate Kriti Debi Debbarman

The ‘Tipra Motha’ supremo Pradyot Kisore who set an example of extreme nepotism by having his elder sister Kriti Debi Debbarman, totally unknown in Tripura till recently, nominated as BJP candidate for the East Tripura (ST) seat today issued a clarion call to voters in the East Tripura Loksabha constituency to ensure a resounding victory for her in the April 26 elections. Speaking to media persons in his chamber Pradyot Kisore also called upon all to see that the elections are free and fair. “There should be no poll-related violence and the election process must be free and fair; this is what my appeal is to voters as well as workers and supporters of parties in the fray” said Pradyot.

He reacted sharply to queries made by media pesons and asked them counter-questions as a self-defence mechanism. Pradyot also hit out at the Congress-CPI (M) alliance, asserting that they can do nothing for the people of the state as the parties do not have the remotest chance of winning the Loksabha election though they may win a couple of seats in some states. “They have done nothing for Tripura , the state was backward because of their long misrule and incompetence and , in fact, they are responsible for the continuing poverty and backwardness of the tribal people of the state” said Pradyot.

Responding to a query on why ninety tribal families of Simna area had boycotted the Loksabha election , Pradyot blamed the former leftist chief minister Manik Sarkar for failure to build appropriate infrastructure in the areas inhabited by indigenous people. He also referred to many instances of failure of the left front government that had ruled the state for thirty five years , remaining silent on what his party ‘Tipra Motha’ is doing for the tribal people or what it has done in the ADC area over the past three years of its tenure in the ADC council.
