Daring daylight theft in Math Chaumuhuni area , three culprits arrested by police

The crime graph in the state , specially now in urban areas has registered a steep rise. As if to prove the point a daring daylight theft was committed in the empty residence of a layer in Muth Chaumuhuni area of Agartala . Advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee and his younger brother who live in a house in lane no-1 of Math Chaumuhuni had left their home unguarded yesterday early in the afternoon. Taking advantage of their absence a gang of thieves broke into the house and made off with Rs 1.5 lakh from the locker inside after breaking it open.

After a specific complaint in this regard had been filed by advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee with the East Agartala police station , the police authority went on a search operation and caught three thieves and also recovered Rs 1.36 lakh from their possession . The officer in charge of the East Agartala police station Sanjit Sen said that the thieves will be produced in court for remand so that interrogation can be done in custody and the recovered money will be refunded to advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee with permission from court.
