BJP revived the Chit Fund issue again on the eve of the election for East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency as the party spokesman Subrata Sarkar in a press conference alleged that the then Left Front Government did not take any administrative step against them. Taking advantage of the Left Leaders' silent support these fraudulent organizations could flee from the state with crores of rupees.

He said the then Chief Minister Manik Sarkar appreciated the Rose Valley Chit Fund that felicitated them to collect crores of money from common people giving them faults assurances. He said that the Left Front Government was founded on three pillars. These are Looting, murdering and nepotism.

Drawing a difference with the previous government he said the present government is working for total state development. He said the present government is giving scope to women to be self-sufficient through self-help groups. As a result, women in the state perform equally with the males in different fields. He cited the recent announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensuring 30 percent reservation for Women in government jobs which is having a positive impact on the society.
