CM announces benefits for TSR battalions and jawans, hike in ration money and uniform allowance

The chief minister Dr. Manik Saha, accompanied by DGP Amitava Ranjan, IG (TSR) G.S.Rao and DIG K.D.Marak, today visited the TSR (2nd battalion) post in Mandai on the occasion of the ‘Deepavali’ tomorrow . While conveying his best wishes to the jawans and unit officers of the TSR the chief minister also distributed sweets among them. Making an important announcement the chief minister said that the government has decided to raise the ration money of jawans from the current Rs 1 thousand to Rs 2 thousand per month.

In addition, Dr Saha announced that the annual uniform allowance of the TSR personnel, currently paid at the rate of Rs 10 thousand per annum will be raised to Rs 12 thousand per annum. Besides, each TSR battalion will be allocated Rs 5 lakh for building up a gymnasium where the officers and jawans will be able to take regular exercise. Dr Saha said that infrastructure at each battalion headquarter of the TSR has grown old and to meet the expenses for repair and renovation Rs 5 crore will be separately allocated for all the battalion headquarters.

The TSR jawans in the Mandai outpost also expressed their joy and satisfaction over the hikes in ration allowance and uniform allowance announced by the chief minister. The official decisions in this regard are likely to be taken in today’s cabinet meeting which will be presided over by the chief minister Dr Manik Saha himself.
