Tripura Settles Rs 200 Crore in Health Scheme Claims: CM Manik Saha

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced that claims amounting to nearly Rs 200 crore have been settled under both central and state health schemes, benefiting thousands of citizens. Speaking at an event marking the sixth anniversary of the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) in Agartala, Dr Saha praised the scheme for its role in providing healthcare access to underprivileged communities.

He revealed that under PM-JAY, claims worth Rs 195.89 crore have been settled, benefitting 3,43,985 people in Tripura. The total number of beneficiaries under the scheme has reached 15,35,364 in the state.To cover those ineligible for PM-JAY, the Tripura government launched the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana in February 2024. This state scheme offers similar benefits, providing cashless treatment to around 12,000 patients, with claims worth Rs 2.20 crore settled so far.

Dr Saha also highlighted the success of the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), which has digitised health records, making them accessible to healthcare professionals and reducing the burden on patients to carry physical documents. Over 21 lakh residents in Tripura have created ABHA IDs, further improving healthcare access in the state.The Chief Minister commended these initiatives for making healthcare more affordable and accessible, particularly for vulnerable populations.
