Demand for road water power and teachers, road blockade in different places

People's agitation for road, water, power, and teachers is going on in different places of the state. On Monday, similar agitations were reported from Ujan Jalai area of Kailasahar and Tulasikhar of Khowai.
The members of over two hundred families mostly belonging to Halam and Darlong communities of five villages resorted to a road blockade movement on the Kailasahar-Kumarghat road causing a total deadlock in the area. Hundreds of vehicles got stuck up. However, the blockade was withdrawn after the senior officials reached there and assured early action.
The agitators were demanding that the common road connecting five villages Dhatucherra, PGP Colony, Bhurashi para, Nalu Halam Para and Tailenbari remain in a dilapidated condition for a long time. As the mud road was not repaired even an ambulance couldn’t reach to the village. They were also alleging about non-availability of power and drinking water.
In Tulasikhar, the students of Paschim Rajnagar Higher Secondary School blocked the road demanding adequate teachers in the school. They said there is no science teacher in the school for the last six years. Students repeatedly demanded but no science teacher was appointed. The road blockade was withdrawn after the Officer-on-special duty of the District Education Department rushed to the spot and assured fulfill the demand soon
