The Tipra Motha Party, an ally of the ruling BJP-led coalition in Tripura, organized a major rally in the Sabroom subdivision of South Tripura on Thursday, voicing solidarity with religious and ethnic minorities in Bangladesh. Thousands of participants from various communities, including a significant number of Muslims, joined the march, which culminated in a public meeting.

Speaking to the media during the rally, Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman called for the international community to take notice of the ongoing persecution of minorities in Bangladesh. "If global attention can focus on issues like Palestine, it should also recognize the plight of Bangladesh's minorities who are facing violence, theft, and persecution," Debbarman said, referring to groups such as Hindu Bengalis, Buddhists, Khasis, Christians, Tiprasas, Mogs, and Chakmas.

Debbarman noted that attacks on minorities in Bangladesh are not a new phenomenon but a long-standing issue. "Communities in areas like Khagrachari, Comilla, and Noakhali have consistently faced atrocities. Many Hindu Bengalis have sought refuge in Indian states like Tripura for safety. People don’t leave their homes willingly, but the Bangladeshi government has failed to act," he added.

Debbarman warned that continued violence against minorities could lead to further instability in Bangladesh. "Bangladesh must remember its history. India played a key role in helping it gain independence from Pakistan. If Bangladesh repeats the mistakes of Pakistan, it could face similar consequences, potentially leading to its own disintegration," he claimed.
