Motorbike theft from remote Chandua village in Bishramgunj, panic in the locality

Bike lifting is no longer an urban menace as it reached remote villages too. On Monday night the bike lifters stole a motorbike from the remote Chandua village of Guliraibari under Bishramgunj police station in Sipahijala district.

One Sahin Mian, a rubber worker, and his mother Rupamala Begam slept in the night locking their door. In the morning they saw the door of the house is broken and the bike is missing. They immediately informed the police who started an investigation but of no avail till now.

Once a peaceful area Guliraibari has become disturbed recently due to several theft incidents. Villagers said cases like theft were unknown to them but recently it became a major threat to their life and property. A few days ago another theft case was reported from Jangaliabari village of the Bashtali area. People said they feel unsafe as the police hardly ever visit their locality as it is situated in a remote area.
