Union minister of state Suresh Gopi charmed by the natural beauty of ‘Neer Mahal’, plans to apprise south Indian film industry of the shooting opportunities here

The visiting union minister of state for tourism, petroleum and natural gas Suresh Gopi felt fascinated by the natural beauty and water-scape around the ‘Neer Mahal’ lake palace in the heart of the sprawling Rudra Sagar lake in Melaghar under Sonamura subdivision today. He was accompanied by a number of officials of the tourism department as well as the state’s minister for tourism Sushanta Chowdhury.
Having seen the ‘Neer Mahal’ a charmed Suresh Gopi , the union minister of state, described this as one of the most attractive tourist spots in the entire northeastern region. The minister visited the ‘Neer Mahal’ amidst heavy monsoon downpour . “It is so beautiful ! I will try to inform the booming south-Indian film industry of its beauty and how they can shoot films in this site ; I advise the state government to do the same” said Suresh Gopi.
He also opined that the entire northeast can figure prominently in the tourist map of the country and the union tourism ministry will do its part to highlight the region as a tourist hub. “ I will bring the matter to the notice of union cabinet minister for tourism so that tourism sites in Tripura and in other states of northeast can be properly developed for domestic as well as foreign tourists”said Suresh Gopi. He has also visited other major tourist sites of the state including the sprawling Dumbur lake and Narikel Kunj and appreciated the good work being done by the tourism department of Tripura.
