Youth murdered in drinking session over fight for monetary transaction, culprit arrested

Drunken orgies, gain and loss of money in gambling session and bite of the cupid have long been reasons for ghastly crimes since long past and this continues unchecked, perhaps with more vigour and enthusiasm, even now. This proved true last night as a youth in a drinking session was hacked to death by one of his so-called friends at 19-card area near Babul Chaumuhuni under Amtoli police station. Police sources said that Surajit Shil , son of Dulal Shil of the area, had sat for a drinking session with his so-called friend Babul Acharjee alias Krishna and three others in a place close to a rubber garden in 19-card area.

As the session progressed a quarrel broke out between Surajit Shil and Babul Acharjee over monetary transactions in business and in an orgy of violence Babul Acharjee alias Krishna struck Surajit’s head with a sharp-cutting matchet. As a profusely bleeding Surajit lay dead on the floor, the killer Babul Acharjee alias Krishna and three others fled the spot. The local people saw the sight of Surajit lying dead on the spot this morning and informed the Amtoli police station as well as members of slain Surajit Shil’s family.

The officer in charge of Amtoli police station Ranjit Debnath led a police force to the site of murder and a forensic team also reached the spot this morning. Acting on primary information police force arrested the killer Babul Acharjee alias Krishna and his supposed accomplices Sayan Roy and Raju Sarkar though another member of the gang is still absconding. Sources said that in the course of primary interrogation accused Babul Acharjee alias Krishna , Sayan Roy and Raju Sarkar confessed to the crime and they will be produced in court tomorrow. The dead body of slain Surajit Shil was sent to TMC hospital in Hapania for post mortem and a case of murder has been registered in the Amtoli police station and detailed investigation launched.
