16th anniversary of the HFT’s Bamutia branch observed in the Bamutia primary health centre

The 16th anniversary of the foundation of Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura (HFT) was observed yesterday with pomp and gaiety in the Bamutia primary health centre in Taltola area. This programme was attended by the founder of the Bamutia branch of HFT Dr Bidhan Goswami, the incharge doctor of Bamutia primary health centre Dr Sanghamitra Dhar and other office bearers and members of the Bamutia branch of HFT.

In their speeches all the office bearers including Dr Bidhan Goswami and Sanghamitra Dhar spoke of the threat posed by various forms of Hepatitis to the health of people as well as by addiction to drugs among youths which have disastrous effect on human health . What was particularly highlighted was the increasing incidence of incurable HIV-positive disease leading to deadly AIDS because of addiction to drugs. The speakers tried to make the people aware of the threats to health posed by the diseases and measures to prevent them, calling upon people to extend their co-operation to the initiative taken by the HFT all over the state. Dr Bidhan Goswami , leading doctor and founder of the HFT branch in Bamutia, also dwelt at length on the activities of the Bamutia branch and called for public co-operation in its works.
