RSS-affiliated Janajati Suraksha Manch demands to delist of converted tribals from the ST list, organizing a rally on December 25

Janajati Suraksha Manch (JSM), an RSS-affiliated organization of the indigenous people has decided to organize a rally on December 25 demanding the exclusion of tribal people who have been converted to other religions from the list of Scheduled Tribe.

Shanti Bikash Chakma, Coordinator of the organization in a press conference said the tribal people have certain traditions and cultures. They were enlisted as Scheduled Tribes and were given various facilities. Unfortunately, the converted tribals are not following this tradition and culture. Hence they don’t deserve the right to enjoy these facilities.

The organization has named the rally as a ‘Delisting Rally’ and claimed that thousands of people from different parts of the state will participate in the rally. They will gather in three different places in Agartala and then will march to Vivekananda Maidan (Astabal Ground) where a public meeting will be held.
