Contrary to speculations in the state’s political circles , the ‘Tipra Motha’ is unlikely to join the BJP led state cabinent which still has three open slots. In informal discussion at the political level the ‘Motha’ leadership have made it clear that they are more interested in performing their assigned role of the opposition and not in joining ministry to enjoy the loaves and fishes of power. Even the central leadership of BJP is reportedly not very keen to bring ‘Tipra Motha’ in the ministry, it has been stated by sources.

When the new BJP ministry was sworn in on March 8 only nine ministers including the chief minister Dr Manik Saha were administered the oath of office and secrecy and three slots are still open . It is reported by sources that the three slots will be filled up in due time as important departments like health and education are still under the care of chief minister and full time ministers for these departments are required . This will be done soon.

Sources in BJP said that central BJP is worried over growing factional feuds in the party and will take steps to resolve them . A section of leaders have kept themselves away from the party work and association with chief minister Dr Manik Saha and efforts will be made to solve them as early as possible. The BJP national president J.P.Nadda is likely to come here on June 8 to address a rally of the party in Dhalai district and it will be part of his efforts to resolve the feuds within the party though no official schedule has yet been finalized.
