In line with the pattern set in Tripura over the past five years, a gang of BJP miscreants last night pelted stones and tried to attack the house of former BJP ‘Mandal’ president and now ‘Tipra Motha’ leader Ranjan Sinha at Chirakuti under Kailasahar subdivision and police station. Shortly after the stone-pelting had started Ranjan Sinha and members of his family came out and the miscreants who had come by a vehicle fled the area, fearing counter-attack. Ranjan later filed a FIR with the Kailasahar police station naming the miscreants who had come to attack and pelted his house with stones.

Sources from Kailasahar said that on Thursday last, that is 25th May, Ranjan Sinha , former president of Chandipur ‘Mandal’ in Kailasahar and aspirant for nomination but denied, had held a press conference in Agartala Press Club and presented documentary evidence as to how the minister for social welfare Tinku Roy had falsified information regarding his educational qualification and suppressed a pending criminal case against him in his affidavit filed along with his nomination paper before the last assembly election.

This naturally stirred a hornet’s nest and the unruly followers of Tinku Roy in Chandipur decided to retaliate against Ranjan Sinha whose house was attacked last night. Ranjan, an ex-serviceman,however, asserted that he will not budge an inch from his position . He added that he will file a court case against Tinku Roy unless the speaker takes appropriate action against him after due process of inquiry.
