Anganwadi workers in Manu and Chawmanu block is yet to get salary, put lock in the office

894 Anganwari Workers and their helpers put the lock in the office of the CDPO at Manu and Chawmanu keeping the employees inside the office as they are yet to get their salary for the month of April. The tension continued throughout the day and the gherao was withdrawn in the evening when the CDPO arrived in the spot and requested the workers to wait till Monday.

The agitation was going on for the last few days as they have not received their salary. They were demanding immediate payment of their salary. It is learnt that there are two components in the salary of the ICDS project workers. One section comes from the centre while the other is from the state. It is learnt that the part of the central government has already arrived while the state part is yet to come. According to the report, they were offered part payment but the workers refused to accept it.
