BJP adopting voluntary blood donation as organizational strategy for mass mobilization

Having violently disrupted a series of voluntary blood donation camps organized by the opposition CPI (M) over the past five years, the ruling BJP now seems to have adopted this programme to mobilize support of people. Three days ago 250 people, mostly BJP workers and supporters, donated blood in the party’s state headquarter in the presence of chief minister Dr Manik Saha. But similar programmes have been going on uninterrupted.

A mega blood donation camp was organized today in Sonamura town hall by the TCS officers association Sonamura subdivisional administration . The programme had commenced with the lighting of the holy lamp on the courtyard of the Sonamura town hall by the newly elected MLA from Melaghar Kisore Barman. This programme was attended by the SDM Sonamura, Chairmen of Sonamura and Melaghar Nagar Panchayats, Panchayat Samity chairpersons of Boxanagar, Nalchhar ,Kathalia and Mohanbhog. All the honoured guests ilnteracted with the people, specially the donors. Altogether 125 persons today donated blood and were thanked by the MLA Kisore Barman who called upon the people to come forward to make up for the shortfall in blood collection and storage.

Apart from this, another mega blood donation camp will be organized in the residence of Surajit Datta , MLA of Ramnagar, on March 26 at the initiative of the Ramnagar ‘Mandal’ of BJP. This was announced by the corporator Tushar Bhattacharjee in an interaction with the media in presence of ‘Yuba Morcha’, ‘Mahila Morcha’ and ‘Mandal’ presidents of the Ramnagar assembly constituency. Speaking to media Tushar Bhattacharjee said that a target of collecting 300 units of blood on the day of donation has been set. On that the prime minister Narendra Modi will also address the nation through his monthly programme of ‘Mann ke Baat’ and all the donors as well as party activists will listen to the programme in the residence of Surajit Datta on the day of the blood donation programme.
