Abandoned Nagerjala pond to be restored, Mayor visits and assures immediate step

Agartala Municipal Corporation has taken initiative to restore the unused pond at Nagejala and beautify it. Mayor Dipak Majumder visited the pond area along with officials of the corporation including Commissioner Sailesh Yadav. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha had promised before the election that a special initiative will be taken to restore and beautify the pond and the present initiative is the outcome.

Mayor Dipak Majumder said restoration of the pond was a long pending demand of the local people but nobody take care of it. The local people drew the attention of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha when he visited the area before the election. The area falls within the assembly constituency Chief Minister represents.

Mayor said the corporation has taken special initiative to restore all the ponds in the city that turned unusable due to long negligence.
