BJP releases manifesto , makes 24 promises sans employees and unemployed youths, achievements listed 12 major achievements

The BJP national president J.P. Nadda who arrived in the state today released a twenty four point manifesto for the assembly elections in the state BJP headquarter. Most of the promises made in the manifesto sound utopian , considering the dire financial condition of the state government but the government employees and the unemployed youths are practically missing from it.

The major highlights of the manifesto are ‘Balika Samriddhi Yojana’ whereby a bond of Rs 50 thousand each will be given to families belonging to financially weaker sections on the birth of a girl child, sanction of free scooty to meritorious college-going female students as part of ‘Mukhyamantri Konya Atmanirbhar Yojana’, 2 free cylinders to all beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana, distribution of land ‘Pattas’ to all eligible landless citizens, provision for affordable housing to all registered beneficiaries under PMAY scheme.

In addition , the manifesto has promised to set up ‘Anukul Chandra’ canteens to provide subsidized cooked food three times a day at the rate of Rs 5 per meal, provide free rice and wheat to all PDS beneficiaries every month and provide edible oil at subsidized rate , four times a year through the PDS system. Importantly, a restructuring of the ADC including for more power legislative, administrative and financial powers through the 125th amendment of the constitution. Besides, as part of ‘Tripura Janajati Bikash Yojana’ each tribal family will be given an annual grant of Rs 5 thousand and to establish a university under the name of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya in Gandacherra for tribals. An increase of monthly allowance from Rs 2 thousand to Rs 5 thousand has been promised for ‘Pradhan Samajpatis’ of the various tribal communities. Apart from this, central financial assistance from Rs 6 thousand annually to Rs 8 thousand has been promised for landless farmers. The manifesto has also promised 50 thousand smart phones to college-going students as well as to establish S.D.Barman Performing Arts Academy to focus on popularizing the state’s folk dance , music and theatre.

Apart from this, the manifestor is prefaced by a 12-point achievements of the outgoing BJP government. This includes reservation of 33% of seats for women in government jobs, increase in pensions and wages of ‘Anganwadi’ workers, ‘Asha’ workers and pension of retired home guards, construction of 2.54 lakh of houses under the PMAY scheme, increase in farmers benefit, 20% of DA sanctioned for employees etc.
