BJP miscreants attack election campaign squad, two CPIM workers injured in Jirania

Allegedly, BJP miscreants carried out a deadly attack on an election rally of CPM in Jirania last night. Their attack seriously injured CPIM leaders Ajay Das and Mano Ranjan Sarkar. They are currently undergoing treatment at the trauma center in GB hospital. CPIM West Tripura district secretary Ratan Das and other party leaders visited the hospital this morning to see them.

Ratan Das told reporters at the hospital premises that CPM took out election campaign squad in Jirania last night with the permission of Election Commission. Police permission was also there. But police did not come to escort the rally.

Ratan Das told reporters that the deadly attack was planned by armed BJP miscreants on CPIM workers. He said BJP has turned Election Commission's "mission zero poll violence" into a farce. He demanded immediate arrest of those who attacked CPM comrades in Jirania last night. Besides, after having such a large number of police deployed, Jirania police station did not send police during the procession. Ratan Das demanded to investigate the matter and take action against the miscreants.
