Justice (retired) U.B.Saha appointed as chairman of Manipur State Human Rights Commission

Former Justice of high court of Tripura Utpalendu Bikash Saha has been appointed as chairman of the Manipur state human rights commission by a notification issued by the department of law and justice of the Manipur state government with assent from the governor L.Ganeshan of the state. The appointment has taken effect from January 25 this year and Justice (retired) U.B.Saha has already taken charge as the human rights commission in Manipur.

Before becoming a judge of the Agartala bench of Guwahati high court justice Saha had been a noted lawyer and then performed his onerous responsibilities as judge. Post-retirement he had been appointed as judge of the consumer forum court in Tripura. Now with appointment as chairman of the Manipur state human rights commission Justice (Saha) will have to be stationed in Imphal.
