The Indigenous Peoples Front of Twipra( (IPFT), partner in the state’s five yearold coalition government, seems to have developed cold feet over sinking their separate political identity with the ‘Tipra Motha’. Speaking on the issue a leader of ‘Tipra Motha’ said that a proposal had been made to IPFT to merge with the ‘Motha’ but they are yet to convey their response to the proposal because of their reluctance over merger. No discussion between the two parties has been held after the proposal was ignored. Asked for his reaction over the issue the senior IPFT leader and minister in the government , Prem Kumar Reang has said that he will speak on the issue in a day or two. Prem Kumar however made it clear that IPFT is not agreeable to ‘Tipra Motha’s proposal for merger. He said that the party will have discussion with the BJP , dominant partner in the state’s coalition government, over the election issue and make a final decision about the course of action to be taken vis-à-vis assembly polls.
