Ajay Das holding the rank of Superintendent of State Fishery Department has been suspended from the service today as per the directions of State Election Commission. He was accused of violating the guidelines of the Election Commission and doing unnecessary extra-ordinary work. It was alleged by the BJP that the sector officer of Sabroom Assembly Constituency Shri Ajay Das went to the shop of a person and covered the PM's face in black ink on the poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After receiving this complaint from the BJP, the State Election Commission investigated the mater. The investigation shows that the sector officer did it illegally. After that the Election Commission gave him a show-cause notice. But the sector officer could not respond properly to the show-cause notice. After that today he was suspended by the Election Commission.
After taking the action against Shri Ajoy Das, Superintendent of Fisheries, Sector Officer, 40-Sabroom assembly constituency, the notice said, "The explanation given by Shri Ajoy Das, Superintendent of Fisheries, Sector Officer, 40-Sabroom Assembly Constituency has been perused. It appears that the Sector Officer Shri Ajoy Das went beyond the provisions of Model Code of Conduct and applied black colour on the poster inside the private shop.
Therefore, it is decided that Shri Ajoy Das, Superintendent of Fisheries, Sector Officer, shall be put under suspension & disciplinary proceeding shall be initiated against him as per provisions of relevant rules".Notably, yesterday, a delegation led by Education Minister Ratanlal Nath met State Election Commissioner Shri Kiran Gitte. They expressed anger at the commission's role to cover the Prime minister's face in black colour and demanded action against the culprit officer. Accordingly election commission investigated the matter and suspended the sector officer after finding him guilty.
