CPI (M) to chalk out final programme of agitation and mobilization for post-puja period till the assembly election

The CPI (M) is preparing to hold a high-level inner-party meeting before ‘Durga Puja’ to fine-tune a comprehensive strategy for sustained agitation and mass mobilization which will commence in the post-puja period and continue till the assembly election next year. Stating this in an informal chat the president of the Tripura unit of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and party’s secretariat member Pabitra Kar said that the people of the state are already determined to show anti-people BJP the door and preparation for this is afoot all over the state.

“You may have noticed the increasingly high attendance of people in the programmes of the CPI (M) everwhere ; in my constituency, that is Khayerpur, our programme held last week had drawn a huge crowd including tribals and this was far above our expectations; this has been happening everywhere as all programmes have been attracting spontaneous participation from people ;this is the indication that BJP is on its way out” said Pabitra. He ascribed the ‘goonda gardi’ of BJP”s bike force against opposition programmes to ‘desperation and isolation from people’ and added that this alienation of people will grow in intensity in the days to come. Regarding the recent violence committed by BJP goons against CPI (M) in Hapania area he said that inaction of police and their indirect backing helped the BJP goons. “We can take on the BJP on our own but the role of government and security forces help them ; but we must admit them that we do need aggressive and tough leadership, specially in the area between Amtoli and Siddhi Ashram ; once we achieve this we will keep up a strong fight with the BJP” said Pabitra Kar.

He said that the party is keeping strict watch on the activities BJP like the import of motor bikes from UP and mafia elements from outside the state. “We know what they are up to but this time we will not let things drift to the benefit of BJP ; we will be fully prepared in the electoral arena” said Pabitra.
