Tussle over a forcible collection of puja subscriptions released later in Teliamura

The situation in Teliamura areas suddenly tune tense when a group of BMS-supported Motor Workers got involved in a tussle with police and resorted to a road blockade in front of the local police station. The blockade was withdrawn after the SDOP Sonaram Jamatia assured them of releasing the four who were detained earlier with a caution that stern action will be taken in case of any further violation of rules.

The incident started when a team of police led by Officer-in-Charge Subrata Chakraborty prevented a group of motor workers who were collecting puja subscriptions from long-distance trucks on the National Highway. They got involved in a tussle forcing the police to take action and detain four of them.

The motor workers rushed to the police station and demanded immediate release of them. They resorted to road blockade movement as the police refused to release them.
