Dispute over freshers welcome, students assaulted Principal, 3 teachers in Sonamura College, begged apology

In a bizarre incident, The Principal of Kazi Najrul Mahavidlaya at Sonamura Uday Narayan Adhikari and three other teachers were assaulted inside the Principal's chamber by a group of fourth-semester students on Thursday. After the incident, the Principal had decided to go for long leave but abstained following the intervention of the local leaders and the police officials. The Principal also refused to file any complaint against his students and the students also after realizing their fault beg an apology to the Principal in writing.

It is learned that the dispute started as the college authority had decided to organize the freshers' welcome in a very simple way as there were not enough fund. The students refused to accept it and started collecting subscriptions from the students that the Principal did not approve.
