Education department give promotion to posts of headmasters and headmistresses in primary section

The director of education Chandni Chandran in a notification yesterday has given ad hoc promotion to 1689 under-graduate teacher, ‘Kokborok’ teacher (KBT) and graduate teacher at primary level to posts of headmasters and headmistresses at the primary level. This has been done on the basis of the ad hoc promotion policy of the government in the pre-fixed scale of pay with respective fixation benefits. The promotion has been given with prospective effect subject to the final outcome of the pending case in supreme court since the year 2015.

The teachers thus promoted are required to report to the district education officer on or before 27th September and in the event of failure of any promoted teacher to do so will lead to cancellation of the promotion given to him or her. After submission of joining report to the DEO the concerned teacher will continue to discharge their duties . After 27th September the DEOs shall submit final report to the directorate about all the promoted teachers who have submitted joining report and then the promotions will take actual effect, said Chandni Chandran in her notification.
