Brigadier Arun Uniyal in charge of NCC visit Agartala, meeting of state advisory committee held, mementos distributed

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has gained in strength over the past few years in Tripura , currently having 5600 cadets (3300 males , 2300 females) ,who are being trained by three NCC units under 13 Tripura NCC battalion. Yesterday a meeting of the state advisory committee of the NCC was held under the chairmanship of education minister Ratan Lal Nath and was attended by Brigadier Arun Uniyal, group commander (Silchar) , Colonel M.A. Rajmannar and Colonel Rohit OC . In the meeting a road map for NCC in Tripura was discussed. .

Among major issues discussed were construction of NCC academy, building up alternate infrastructure , upgrading NCC units, implementation of NCC as elective subject and provision of incentives to Cadets.

As part of the initiative to develop NCC mementos of honour in the name of the PM was given to wife of Rifleman Sukhamoni Debbarma and wife of NB /Subedar Ajit Sangma who had attained martyrdom in militant attacks. Both the soldiers were serving in the 34th battalion of the Assam Rifles.
