In an impressive rally at Sonamura, many leaders from ruling, opposition parties joined Congress

The spree of joining to Congress from different political parties remained unabated as jubilant opposition and some ruling party leaders started deserting their camp targeting next assembly elections to strengthen the hands of Congress.
The big joining programme held at Sonamura on Wednesday in presence of top Pradesh Congress leaders including PCC president Birajit Sinha, AICC in-charge for Tripura Dr Ajoy Kumar, party MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA Ashish Saha and AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang.
PCC president Birajit Sinha said a total of 1320 supporters of 256 families from Trinamool Congress (TMC) including TMC’s state vice president Idrish Miah, Sonamura district TMC leader Dhruba Lal Chowdhury joined Congress. Sinha said that apart from TMC supporters, a total of 716 voters from 150 families of CPI(M) and 1126 voters from 220 families , who are the supporters of ruling BJP have also joined the party.
Welcoming all of them to the Congress fold, Birajit Sinha urged the leaders to contribute their best to oust the ‘autocratic’ BJP government from Tripura for better future of state’s people.
“BJP came to power with false promises and they betrayed with people of the Tripura, now time has come to strengthen the hands of Congress as Congress is the only party to able to oust BJP from Tripura,”, said Sinha and added that after four and half years of rule by BJP, the people of the state are now understood the betrayal politics of BJP.
Addressing the gathering Dr Ajoy Kumar in his scathing attack on ruling BJP alleged that ruling party based on RSS philosophy will gradually abolish the reservation quota. They spreading hatred against Muslim community and now BJP is moving towards to abolish the reservation for SC, ST and OBC.
Speaking in the Meeting, Sudip Roy Barman said that thousands of supporters from BJP, CPI (M) and TMC will also join Congress in different parts of the state in coming days. He urged the people to protect the future generation and country, and should strengthen the hands of Congress to oust the BJP from Tripura.
“Today is the big day for Congress, many leaders from ruling party and other like minded opposition parties joined to strengthen the hands of Congress to oust the anti-people BJP government from Tripura,” said Sudip.
Sudip said that the people of the state have decided to unseat the ‘anti-people’ BJP government through democratic means of election and claimed that BJP has ruined the state and hundreds of BJP supporters are now joining Congress for the betrayal politics of BJP government. He also claimed that no peace loving and honest people cannot sustain in BJP as the ruling are being controlled by miscreants and anti-socials. He said that all leaders, who are joining Congress have reposed their faith over ideology of Congress and claimed that Congress is the only party, who can oust the communal BJP from the country.
He also asserted that the BJP has no vote bank as such in Tripura and that is why they have no alternative but to depend on rigging and mafia activities to remain in power. He added that Congress workers will not allow them to continue the hooliganism and will resist those joining hands with people of the state.
