Four NLFT militants and two collaborators surrender to security forces with arms and ammunition

Altogether four banned NLFT militants today laid down arms and ammunition to security forces combing the Barmura hill ranges in search of them. They also deposited few arms and a small quantity of ammunition, the details of which are still unknown. The four militants were accompanied by two collaborators.
Police sources still awaiting details said that on July 21 these four militants had entered Tripura from the Chittagong hill-tracts of Bangladesh through the Ganganagar border in Dhalai district. There was feedback that the militants would extort money from the ordinary tribals from different areas. The police received feedback that that the militants accompanied by two collaborators had entered the Barmura hill ranges . This was followed by massive security arrangements and combing operation . Finally having failed to break through the police cordon the militants and their collaborators today laid down arms and ammunition and surrendered to security forces.
