The Cachar District Administration issued an alert on 19 June 2022 itself that that there would be be spate of Flood Water and they should gear themselves up for a devasting Flood.

It was not empty beat of Drum . But that this time, the deluge would become one of the biggest ever, no one had imagined. The water rose inch by inch rapidly, submerging even areas of the town where floodwaters had never reached in living memory.

There is no receding of the flood water even on this day on June 25, 2022. There is no electricity , the city of Silchar is submerged in total and abysmal darkness with the setting of sun. It has become hey days for the robbers and thieves and they are coming armed by boat to the houses of ordinary citizens and they never dare to confront them.

There is no adequate supply of drinking water, the water bottles of 20 litres which was used to sell at Rs.50.00 just that day only are now being sold at Rs. 500.00 and helpless people have no alternative also. The Supply of Drinking water by the Para militia and Armed Force is too inadequate.

The mobile and internet facility has almost completely broken down. In absence of communication, helpless inundated people could not approach the proper district officials for redress also .

Being captive in Flood Water , the people have become victim to various ailments and are succumbing to death untreated. The hospitals and the doctors working therein are all helpless spectators. They are also prey to this manmade natural calamity.

People of Tripura , specially of North Tripura and Unokoti District affected by ailments rush to Silchar for better treatment . Neither the Left Front Government nor this BJP Government in the State of Tripura could set up proper health care facility till yet . If there is any hell on earth , it is GBP Hospital , the referral hospital of Tripura , And, therefore, Silchar is their only recourse. . But the Government of Tripura is callous spectator and they were up till that day was busy with the recently concluded By Election.

In the Pandemic period a helpline 24 *7 was setup but in this instant case the Government of Tripura has taken no step in this regard.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam is busy in entreating the aggrieved members of Shiv Sena in a luxurious hotel. It is alleged that daily Rs. 56.00 lakhs are being spent only to cajole this desanders whereas the people at Cachar and elsewhere in Assam are almost starving and dying uncared for and unattended .

A classic example of complete apathy.
