By-elections voting records 51.77 % turn out till 1 PM

The voting process for by-elections for four assembly constituencies started since Thursday morning despite a few sporadic incidents on the issue of terrorizing the voters, by and large the voting process started peacefully since morning. Majority of the polling booths with polling agents and representatives of political parties taking part enthusiastically in the by-poll. But, the number of sporadic incidents started rising with passing times with complaints of terrorizing of voters and obstruction to exercise their franchise.

While, the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office in Agartala said that till 1 PM on an average all four assembly constituencies have recorded 51.77 voting percentage.

The polling commenced at Thursday morning 7 AM with voters lining up and polling continued with moderate and brisk rate till 1 PM.

ECI relased issued after 1 PM said that 6-Agartala assembly constituency recorded 54.2 % of voting till 1 PM in all 55 polling booths, which is highest among all four assembly seats and 8-Town Bardowali assembly seat recorded 52.16 % of voting. The polling percentage of 46-Surma seats recorded 53.5 % till 1 PM and the 57-Jubarajnagar recorded lowest poll percentage of 46.56 % till 1 PM.
