Despite the tough stance of the State Election Commission, a reign of terror has been established in the four constituencies of the Assembly at seven in the morning. The Congress, the CPIM, the Trinamool Congress have complained that in many places their polling agents are not being allowed to enter the polling booths. Voters are being prevented from entering the polling booths on the streets. There are no police or TSR on the streets. Although there are CRPF and BSF inside the polling station, there is no security on the way to the polling station from home at many places. Earlier, it was reported by the election commission and police administration that there would be a large number of local police on the roadside. But the Congress, the CPIM and the Trinamool Congress have complained that there is not much security at the streets.

It has been reported that a journalist named Shubham Debnath was beheaded in front of Tulsibati School at around 8 in the morning. He is a journalist of a TV channel called Social Bangla. He was reportedly attacked while capturing a scene of voters blocking access to a polling station in front of Tulsibati School. Similarly, a man named Shambhu Saha was stabbed near polling station No. 29 of the Agartala assembly constituency, said Congress spokesperson Prashanta Bhattacharya.

Meanwhile, huge numbers of video footage of voters being attacked in many places has also started going viral on social media. There is resistance in some places. Political experts believe that the overall situation at the end of the day could be dire if security is not beefed up at outside the polling station areas leading to the polling booths.
