The MBB college, one of the most spectacularly beautiful colleges in entire northeast, is in a state of serious decay in terms of infrastructure . While the problem of wear and tear has been continuing over the past many years the situation has now become almost unbearable with crisis in many sectors retarding the normal studies of students. When the education minister was busy accompanying the former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in Kamalpur as part of an exercise in abject sychophancy, the students of MBB college in the Botany department opened their mouth to media regarding the acute water crisis in their department.

Speaking to media a girl student of Botany said that over the past many months there is no water supply in the department and , as a result, the toilets are not cleaned and washed and the foul odour emanating therefrom make life hell for students during classes and their stay in the block meant for Botany. No practical class can be held due to shortage of water and even the doors, benches and windows of the Botany classes are broken. “Despite repeated complaints the college authority have not been able to take any action to restore the department to its original state” said the girl student on condition of anonymity. She added that the education minister Ratan Lal Nath who visited the college and the Botany department personally is fully aware of the problems but has taken no initiative to set things right. A number of students demanded that Ratan Lal Nath should visit the Botany department of MBB college with the former chief minister.
