The CPI (M) state secretary Jiten Chowdhury has attributed the sudden resignation of Biplab Kumar Deb from the post of chief minister to his ‘arrogance, dictatorial attitude and anti-people activities’. Jiten said that Biplab Deb’s four year tenure as chief minister is the ‘darkest chapter’ in the political history of Tripura. “He began his journey by demolishing the offices of all opposition parties and followed this up with all kinds of anti-people activities ; possibly the central leadership have realized the futility of retaining him as chief minister but this change will not affect the political fate of BJP in Tripura ;they are now headed for debacle in the next assembly election” said Jiten. He asserted that the party will issue a detailed statement on the change of guard in Tripura.
