Escape bid of an under-trial prisoner foiled by security guards in GB Hospital

Police and other security forces deployed in GB Hospital on Friday managed to detain an under-trial prisoner, who escaped from the hospital during medical check-up.

Police sources said that on Friday morning, the police personnel from Central jail have brought an under-trial prisoner to the hospital for necessary medical check-up. But, during the medical examination process in the Medical ward of the hospital, an under-trial prisoner managed to escape from the spot. During his run away from the hospital, accused prisoner had dashed a stranded woman and amidst hue and cry, security forces deployed in the hospital noticed the incident and they chased him.

Within, few minutes, police personnel from GB Town Outpost (TOP) managed to detain him and handed over to jail police for further legal proceedings.

It may be recalled here that recently, three under-trial prisoners from Kanchanpur sub-jail escaped from the jail and are still on the run. But, another prisoner, who managed to escape from Gandacherra sub-jail, was detained by police within a day of his escape bid.
