Mayor assures to solve drinking water crisis in city by next few months

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder admitted that there is a problem of drinking water supply in certain areas of the city and assured that this problem will be solved within the next few months. He was talking with the reporters after having a meeting with the Water Board and concerned officials of the corporation.
The meeting especially stressed on the problems of the central zone and it was found that there are difficulties in supply of drinking water in Krishnanagar, Joynagar and Ramnagar areas. Mayor said a special step has been taken to solve the problem and expects that it will be removed within the next few months.
He said pipelines have been installed in these areas long ago but supply of water has not been started till now. The issue was reviewed in the meeting. The Water Board has been instructed to submit a report about the steps needed to be taken for the purpose within two weeks.
Mayor said the work for installation of 23 Iron Removal Plant is in progress. Some of them have already been installed while work is going on for the rest.
