Hepatitis-B foundation organizing two day Livercon-IV conference in Hapania from today

The Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura (HFT) which has been making invaluable contribution to crucial sectors of health service in the state is organizing the Padma Ganga Gomati international liver conference from today in the international convention centre at Hapania fair ground . The Padma Ganga Gomati is a joint organization or forum for study of liver, Dhaka Bangladesh, Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura and liver foundation , West Bengal. For the first time this special conference of Bengali speaking doctors is being organized at Agartala. The ‘LIVERCON’ conference is being held since the year 2011 every alternate year and the last ‘LIVERCON’ conference was held in the year 2019. There was no conference last year owing to Covid pandemic condition.

The current year’s conference beginning today will focus on four important issues : 1) Critical care management of Liver diseases, 2) Liver transplantation, 3) Co-ordination between Bangladesh, Tripura and West Bengal for research in liver disease, 4) Prevention of liver disease. More than 30 national and international delegates will remain present in the conference and 200 doctors from different parts of Tripura will also attend the conference as delegates. The formal inauguration of the conference will take place at 6-00 PM on May 14 after two days of academic discussion and the inaugurator will be union minister of state for social justice and empowerment Pratima Bhowmik. Dr Dilip Das will be the chief guest and Dr Mamun Al Mehtab of Bangladesh will be on the dais as an honoured speaker. This conference will end on May 15.

In a statement the Hepatitis-B Foundation of Tripura said that the common causes of liver diseases and their effective cure will be discussed in the conference. The faculty members, delegates and members of HFT will interact with all other delegates in this conference. Apart from this, this conference is also coinciding with the completion of glorious twenty years of the Hepatitis-B Foundation of Tripura (HFT). In these twenty years the Foundation has worked as a social organization and performed many out of the box programme and activities including mass Hepatitis-B vaccination, post-natal Hepatitis-B vaccination , drug de-addiction, HIV/AIDS programme , thousands of health camps, awareness generating programme and many more and carved out a niche for itself in the minds of the people of Tripura.
