Tripura government releases bulletin on Covid, positivity rate high at 14.86%

Tripura government has released a detailed Covid bulletin giving data on current Covid profile in the state which shows that at present the positivity rate is 14.86%. There have so far been only four deaths in the latest and continuing round of Covid outbreak. The bulletin is based on extensive surveillance of Covid profiled across the state. 

According to the data provided altogether 9321 samples including RTPCR have so far been tested till this morning . Out of this a total of 1385 have so far been found to be positive and the recovery of patients has been put at 492- that is, this number of patients have so far recovered from the disease.

Out of 1385 patients found the district-wise distribution is West Tripura-610 as the highest, Sepahijala-96, Khowai-45, Gomati-133, South Tripura-137, Dhalai-132, Unakoti-145 and North Tripura-87. The lowest infection rate is in Khowai. Apart from this, the bulletin has given a picture of other northeastern states in terms of cases traced as follows : Assam-6,53,717, Mizoram-1,53,758, Manipur-1,27,493,Meghalaya-86,532, Arunachal Pradesh-57,037, Sikkim-34,929 and Nagaland-32,964.

The bulletin has mentioned that in India 4,86,761 deaths have been recorded in the Covid pandemic, supposedly in the latest round.
