The chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has alleged a deep-seated conspiracy by anti-national forces to put the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's life at risk recently in Punjab. "The conspiracy was hatched by forces inimical to India in collaboration with Khalistani elements but the people of India will give a befitting reply to such people and their heinous conspiracies" said Biplab while interacting with the media in the state secretariat yesterday.
He said that the prime minister's road journey in Punjab had been pre-fixed and the police force in Punjab had been informed of this well in advance but they stood by having tea with a crowd of Khalistanis, Maoists and anti-social elements owing allegiance to Congress . What is most unfortunate is that the prime minister had to remain stranded in his vehicle on a fly-over , totally exposed to any kind of attack from criminal elements within a distance of only 20 kms from the sensitive Pakistan border. "How can a state government allow this unless it is complicit in the entire issue ? They knew everything in advance and yet they did nothing to stop this and let the prime minister’s convoy pass" said Biplab.
He alleged that the opposition in India have been playing a nefarious role ever since the BJP government under the leadership of Narendra Modi had come to power in Centre in 2014. "They say nothing against Pakistan and China but when Indian military launch successful surgical strike and air force drop bombs on Balakote they demand proof and condemn the army general as 'Sadak ka Goonda ; with such an opposition we do not even need external enemies" said Biplab. He also referred to various 'anti-national' statements made by several Congress leaders on the issue of threat to prime minister's life . He however felt that all the conspiracies against the country and the prime minister will be defeated and the countrymen will never tolerate such nefarious activities of the opposition. (Tripurainfo)
