TBSE to reduce 30 percent syllabus for IX, X students

In the wake of unprecedented situation- Covid-19 pandemic, Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has decided to reduce 30 percent syllabus of class IX and X for the 2020-21 academic session.

Academic committee had a meeting on what could be done regarding the syllabus of IX and X as academic activities in the schools remain suspended for four months of the current academic year due to Covid-19 pandemic. In the meeting, CBSE's recent 30 percent reduction in the syllabus for IX and X came up for discussion.

Considering all aspects, the committee suggested the decision taken by CBSE as far as syllabus is concerned for IX and X. Based on the recommendation of the academic committee, the board has constituted subject committees to finalize the syllabus for the current academic session. "The panels will hold deliberation on the revised syllabus and will come up with revised syllabus for IX and X by July 7 so that students could prepare themselves for the board examinations", said an official of the Education department here today.
