TBSE declared HS (+2) results, pass percentage recorded at 80.80 %

Agartala, July 31, 2020: Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) declared HS (+2) results on Friday morning, which recorded pass percentage at 80.80%, which was 80.51 % in the year 2019.

With the results of three streams of Higher Secondary (+2) including Science, Humanities, Commerce results, board also declared the results of Madrassa Fazil Theology, Madrassa Alim and Fazil Arts and the results of Madhyamik (old syllabus).

TBSE this year declared the names of top ten merit rank holders as per stream wise and altogether 17 candidates secured position in the top ten ranks from science stream. Eleven each candidate from Humanities and Commerce streams got positions in top ten merit lists. Significantly, girls students outshine the boys in top ten merit list  and Bipasha Chakraborty from Vivekananda Vidyapith HS school under Udaipur subdivision from Humanities stream got the highest marks in HS (+2) results with 482 marks.

While, Ruchika Sarkar from Arya Colony HS School of Belonia got topped position in Science stream with 473 marks and Swarupa Banik from Prachya Bharati HS school of Agartala got topped position in Commerce stream with 455 marks.

Addressing a press conference here at board office on Friday morning, TBSE's president Dr Bhabatosh Saha  giving details abstract of the results said this year HS(+2) examinations started on March 2nd last, but board had to stop the examinations on March 23rd last due to pandemic caused by Covid-19.

Dr Saha said that this year altogether 26,400 candidates appeared in HS examinations from 408 schools across eight districts of the state from total 86 examination venues and 60 examination centres , which was 27, 155 in the year 2019, a less of 2.78 %.

Altogether 28 candidates enrolled their names for Madrassa Fazil examinations from three Madrassas of Kailasahar, Dharmanagar and Sonamura including 7 girl students. For Madrassa Alim, a total of 95 students including 16 girls’ students appeared in the examinations. Only one student appeared in the examination under old syllabus of Madrassa Alim and more 309 candidates enrolled under old syllabus of Madhyamik examinations. Among them only 211 candidates appeared for examinations including 125 girl students.

Dr Saha added that the evaluation for answer sheets of the conducted examinations has started on April 24th and completed all evaluation process on May 22nd last.

Under 'Regular' category of HS (+2), a total of 22,536 candidates appeared in the examinations and among them 18,208 candidates managed to secure pass marks, which attributed pass percentage of 80.80 %.  The schools under Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas under ‘combined’ category, total 3499 candidates appeared in the HS (+2) examinations and pass percentage recorded at 70.68 % (67.66 % in the year 2019).

The pass percentages of Madhyamik (old syllabus) recorded at 49.76 % and students under Madrassa Alim got pass percentages of 72.94 %.

Dr Saha said that this year among the eight districts, the Sepahijala district secured top position in overall pass percentages with 84.27 %, while South Tripura got second position with 82.51 % and third position in district wise results secured by Unakoti district with 82.32 % , but the  least pass percentage secured by the students of Dhalai district with73.84 %.

Altogether 27 (21 schools in 2019) schools of the state secure 100 % pass marks, while only one school got zero percent pass marks. Board president said that this year no candidate from correctional home were appeared in the examinations.

Significantly, altogether 10 candidates under "Blind" category including six girls appeared in the HS (+2) examinations and more 18 candidates with five girls appeared in the board exam as from 'specially abled' category.

Dr Saha also said that the candidates can the file their review applications before August 10th at their respective schools, which must be submitted at board office before August 14th next.
