Steps taken by government for preparedness and to tackling corona virus pandemic in Tripura

Agartala, March 25, 2020: The following steps have been taken by the Tripura goverment till now:

1. Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 has been invoked in the state

2. Curfew has been announced in the entire state from 2 pm on 24.03.2020 to 5 pm of 31.03.2020. Offices will run with skeleton staff. Prohibitory order under section 144 issued banning assembly of 3 or more peoplke

3. International and Interstate borders have been sealed

4. A task force of senior officers under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary has been constituted for tackling the crisis

5. War room has been set up at State headquarters under Additional Chief Secretary rank officer

6. District level control rooms have been set up under control of District Magistrates

7. A control room has been set up separately in the Health department

8. People are being made aware about importance of social distancing and for staying at home through electronic media, newspapers, miking, social media etc

9. Welfare measures have been announced for poor people and daily labourers. These measures include-

a. Providing 15 days ration equivalent to 17.5 KG free to 5.86 Lakh families in the state,

b. Giving 2 months pensions in advance to 3.25 lakh pensioners

c. Take home ration facility extended for aanganwadi children, pregnant and lactating mothers till 15th April

d. School students will be given rice and dal to compensate for mid day meal entitlements

e. Ex gratia for 4 lakh announced for any death due to corona virus infection and for medical staff

10. The medicines, equipments and other items required for containing the COVID 19 pandemic have been supplied to all districts. Orders have been placed to bring more material from outside the state.

11. Enforcement measure:

(a) Special enforcement drive on daily basis for regulating price rise and monitoring availability of foodgrains.

(b) Special enforcement drive on daily basis for regulating price rise and monitoring availability of medicine.

(c) Engagement of special enforcement officer in each market

(d) Setting up of special surveillances team.
