State sends chopper to bring medicines, protective kits from Kolkata , Guwahati

Agartala, Mar. 26: The state government today sent a chopper to bring live saving drugs and other essential medical items like masks, suits and gloves stranded in Kolkata and Guwahati because of lockdown curfew in the wake of Novel Coronavirus outbreak.

Confirming this the authority of MBB Airport tweeted: State Govt. sends one Helicopter to Kolkata to bring essential items like medicines and other required items which were stranded at Kol due to lockdown. The chopper took off from MBB Airport, Agartala at 11:07 IST and will fly via GAU (ETA12:40 IST)-Bagdogra-Kolkata @aairedner.

Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Debasish Basu has said masks- N-95, three-layer and gloves were distributed among the doctors and nursing staff. "A chopper will fly for Kolkata and Guwahati to bring a big consignment of personnel protective gears in the battle against Covid-19, tomorrow. The authority of Tripura Bhavans was asked to procure protective kits whatever is available there", he said.
