New chief justice of Tripura high court Indrajit Mohanty sworn in at Raj Bhawan

The new chief justice of the high court of Tripura Indrajit Mohanty was sworn in today . The swearing in ceremony took place in the 'Durbar Hall' of the new Raj Bhawan in new capital complex early in the afternoon today. The governor of Tripura Satyadeo Narayan Arya administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new chief justice. Among the guests present on the occasion were chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, deputy chief minister Jishnu Debbarma, minister for education Ratan Lal Nath, tribal welfare minister Mebar Kumar Jamatya, co-operative minister Ram Prasad Paul, information minister Sushanta Chowdhury, union minister of state for social justice and empowerment Pratima Bhowmik, the speaker of the assembly Ratan Chakraborty, the justice of Tripura high court S.G.Chatterjee, chief secretary of the state Kumar Alok and DGP V.S.Yadav and other senior officials.

Shortly after the swearing in chief justice Mohanty said that from today he has become a 'Tripuri'. He replaces the former chief justice A. A. Kureshi who has been transferred as chief justice of Rajasthan high court. The chief justice will start full-fledged functioning after the current 'Puja' vacation is over.
