New Terminal Bhawan of MBB airport to begin operations from tomorrow, offices of service providers being shifted

The new terminal Bhawan of Agartala’s MBB airport, inaugurated by the prime minister Narendra Modi on January 4 is all set to become operational from tomorrow , the 15th January. The passenger services of various airlines rendered from the old terminal till today will not be available from tomorrow. By tonight-that is 14th January night-all the offices , counters and other paraphernalia of the air service providers will have to be shifted to the locations slotted for them in the new terminal Bhawan. The air services today ended at 5-00 in the evening and the task of shifting for various airlines offices, reporting counters , papers and equipments have already begun as they were directed earlier by the airport authority of India to complete the shifting by tonight to make the new terminal Bhawan operational from tomorrow.

Sources in the airport said that at present three airlines organizations provide service from the MBB airport and they are Air India, Indigo and Fly Big. Despite the  worsening Covid situation between 12-15 flights operate daily to and from Agartala airport and there is a possibility that more air service providers will open offices and services at the MBB airport after the new and much larger terminal building becomes fully operational, sources added. The remaining works for upgrading the MBB airport to a fully international airport is being completed at a rapid pace.
