Agartala February 14, 2020: In a massive fire, initially thought to be accidental, altogether thirteen small shops engaged in selling tiffin and fast food were completely gutted causing loss of at least twenty lakhs. Police sources said that one of the thirteen shops located on the backside of Nagerjala had caught fire first after the burst of a cooking gas cylinder with a booming sound, setting the shop afire . The fire spread very fast and engulfed the twelve other shops standing side by side or within shortest time because of burst of two other gas cylinders.

Sources said that after being informed of the conflagration five fire tender engines reached the spot as the local people could do hardly anything to contain the blaze and doused the fire. No injury has been reported so far but the fire is initially estimated to have caused loss of at least twenty lakhs of money. The shop-keepers who suffered the combined loss are shell-shocked and deeply worried over their lives and livelihood.
