Manik hails AAP victory in Delhi polls as encouraging and positive for nation

Agartala, February 13, 2020: Opposition leader Manik Sarkar described the landslide victory of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly polls as 'positive' victory on the developmental agenda and a success over BJP's division politics.

Former Chief Minister through a video message circulated by his party CPI(M) said APP during their last five years rules has improve the education, health, power and transport facilities for the citizens of Delhi along with other developmental activities. They had campaign during polls with their report card, but on the other hand BJP and RSS stressed on their election campaign through hatred speech and division politics, said Sarkar.

Mentioning the AAP's victory as an encouraging development for the struggle of the secular forces against a communal force like the BJP, Sarkar said that despite all out endeavours and conspiracies to win significant electoral battles have been totally trashed by the common people of Delhi.

The AAP has been running its government in Delhi by facing many challenges and obstacles posed by centre, but they maintained the promises to provide good governance, including quality education, better health services, water supply and other basic necessities, said Sarkar.

In the final battle of polls, the AAP has beaten the division politics and conspiracies and returned to power with massive mandate, said Sarkar adding that BJP’s with its all power money and media campaigned through Delhi by instigating people against each other and tried to spread religious hatred among themselves.

"Considering the Article 370, CAA, NRC, NPR and attacks on university campus, the people of Delhi reflected the resentment through votes and defeated communal forces", said Sarkar adding that Delhi's poll result will definitely encourage the rest of the nation.

Sarkar said the BJP has received suitable reply for its anti-people economic policies, mis-governance, destruction of democracy, attacks on education and their failure to provide jobs to the unemployed people and for destroying the economy of the country.

It may be recalled here that Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the assembly elections with 62 seats out of the 70 seats and BJP got only remaining eight seats.
